The Greatest Story Ever Told, running from January 26th 1947 to December 30th 1956, was the first ever radio series to characterize Christ, using a regular actor, Warren Parker, to play the role. Parker, however, remained anonymous for the show?s run and there were never any cast credits. Such was the effect of The Greatest Story Ever Told that during its first year on the air it won many awards and was enthusiastically received by clergy men of all denominations.
The series was written for radio by Fulton Oursler, author of the original novel.
